Dr. Marco Brindis is a full-time professor in the Department of Prosthodontics at Louisiana State University, where he also maintains an intramural restorative practice devoted to esthetics and implants with an interdisciplinary approach. He earned a DDS degree from the Universidad Intercontinental in Mexico City in 1998. He did a preceptorship in dental implants at the Dental School of the UT Health Science Center in San Antonio in 2002. He completed a surgical implant fellowship at the Biotechnology Institute in Vitoria, Spain in 2003. He earned his Certificate in Prosthodontics from Louisiana State University School of Dentistry in the Department of Prosthodontics in 2007. He then completed the esthetic and occlusion courses at the Pankey Institute in 2007. Dr. Brindis is very passionate in the field of interdisciplinary dentistry for full-mouth reconstruction, esthetics, and implant dentistry. He is involved in the development of new implant protocols to treat the edentulous patient. He has lectured in the United States, Colombia, Mexico, Canada, and Spain. He is a member of several organizations including the American Academy of Restorative Dentistry, Academy of Osseointegration, American Dental Association, American College of Prosthodontics, and the Pierre Fauchard Academy. Dr. Brindis will be speaking at out FULL-DAY program on Friday, October 25, 2019. The Kick-Off Event for the very first 2019-2020 Club program to be held at Los Coyotes Country Club, Buena Park, CA.

The program will be divided to morning and afternoon. This all -day program is for the WHOLE office team! “A Hopeless Tooth Is Not a Useless Tooth: Applications and Technique for Orthodontic Extrusion” This course will address the indications and considerations for orthodontic extrusion and other complex orthodontic movements in the aesthetic zone in preparation for implant rehabilitation avoiding undesirable periodontal amputation that occurs following tooth loss. Participants will learn the proper treatment sequence and step-by-step technique. “Material Selection for the Everyday Implant Dentist: What, When, and How. Where We Are and Where We Are Going” This course provides valuable information to make the best clinical decision in your everyday practice. The following topics will be covered: - Restorations: additive vs retentive - Evidence-based ceramic material selection - Implant abutment material selection: The three levels of interest - Cements: Optimize your clinical results - Cementation protocol for implant-supported crowns - Indications and Contraindications - Clinical Applications - New generation of monolithic ceramic materials - New bonding protocols for the new generation of ceramic materials - The new generation of ceramics for veneer restorations

"An Evening of Diagnosis" This should be a fun evening! Each club member gets to rotate in the "learning cubicles" where each specialist will have either topics for discussion or cases to analyze. How is this program run? After pizza (and beer), participants will be rotating in small groups from one operatory to another. In each station, a specialist member will be prepare an exercise task - something unique to the diagnostic skills pertaining to the specific specialty area.
